HKETO Director presents 2023 Chinese Canadian Legend Award at the 22nd Award Gala

Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Toronto) (HKETO), Ms Emily Mo, attended the 22nd Chinese Canadian Legend (CCL) Award Gala on July 29 and presented award to an outstanding Chinese Canadian who made remarkable achievements in her field.

Organised by the Chinese Canadian Legend Association, the CCL Award is one of the most prestigious, influential and distinctive awards in Canada with an aim to promote and recognize the achievements and contributions of Chinese Canadians and to foster multiculturalism, understanding as well as respect between different communities.

Speaking at the gala, Ms Mo highlighted the Hong Kong spirit which is a testament to unwavering resilience, determination and adaptability, adding that the “can-do spirit” is what Hong Kong people beautifully embody in pursuing dreams.

She presented the CCL Award to Sue Tang, a Hong Kong-born woman who forged a successful career in Canada and pursued charitable endeavors with a sense of gratitude – a testimony of Hong Kong spirit.

Earlier this month, Ms Mo attended the Summer Extravaganza organised by the Women International Network (WIN) of the Hong Kong-Canada Business Association, an event supported by HKETO, Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) in Canada and Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) Canada. The WIN event, held on July 20, facilitated networking particularly among female entrepreneurs and business leaders.

Speaking at the event, Ms Mo updated event participants of the latest developments of post-pandemic Hong Kong and introduced the new opportunities Hong Kong possesses, including a gateway to the Greater Bay Area, a leading hub for Family Offices and a perfect place for the Fintech & Web 3 development.   She added that in Hong Kong, over one-third of the managers, administrators and professionals are women.  The city is a perfect launchpad for Canadian female entrepreneurs and professionals to access to the Asian markets.

Ms Mo stressed that Hong Kong and Canada are long-term trading partners, and invited Canadian business people to come and experience the new face of Hong Kong.

香港經貿處處長於第22屆「紅楓傳奇」頒獎晚會頒發2023年度「紅楓傳奇人物」獎

香港駐多倫多經濟貿易辦事處(香港經貿處)處長巫菀菁於七月二十九日出席第22屆「紅楓傳奇」頒獎晚會,並頒獎予在其專業範疇內建樹良多的傑出加拿大華人。

「紅楓傳奇人物」獎由紅楓傳奇協會籌劃,是加拿大其中一個最享負盛名和最具影響力的殊榮,旨在頌揚及肯定加拿大華人的成就和貢獻,並鼓勵多元文化,以及不同社群之間相互了解和尊重。

巫菀菁在晚宴上致辭時提及香港精神,她表示香港精神是指不屈不撓、堅定不移和非凡的適應力,並指香港人多年來憑藉無懼挑戰的堅忍精神,努力實現夢想。

由巫菀菁頒獎的「紅楓傳奇人物」得獎者李本嫦生於香港,在加拿大建立成功事業,懷着感恩心積極發展慈善事業,正是香港精神的寫照。

本月較早前,巫菀菁出席港加商會(多倫多分會)「婦女國際網絡」舉辦的Summer Extravaganza,活動獲香港經貿處、香港貿易發展局(香港貿發局)及投資推廣署加拿大辦事處支持,並於七月二十日舉行,旨在促進女性企業家和商界領袖的商務交流。

巫菀菁致辭時向參加者談及香港疫後的最新發展,並介紹香港作為通往粵港澳大灣區的門戶、家族辦公室的領先樞紐,以及發展金融科技和Web3的理想基地所擁有的新機遇。香港有超過三分之一的經理、管理人員及專業人士為女性,是加拿大女性企業家和專業人員進入亞洲市場的理想跳板。

巫菀菁強調港加兩地是長期的貿易伙伴,她邀請加拿大商界人士親臨香港,體驗香港的新氣象。
