HKETO joins Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration to promote Chinese culture

Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Toronto) (HKETO), Ms Emily Mo, joined the Moon Festival Celebration on September 29 to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with the local communities. The event was supported by the HKETO, with the City of Markham and the City of Richmond Hill, to promote Chinese culture.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms Mo said that the Mid-Autumn Festival is an important traditional Chinese festival and a beautiful time to spend time with family. She encouraged the attendees to enjoy the festive season and multi-cultural activities presented by the event, while inviting them to visit Hong Kong to experience the rich cultural facets of the Asian's world city.

Ms Mo said that the “Night Vibes Hong Kong” Campaign was launched around the Mid-Autumn Festival all over the city in Hong Kong, running across National Day, Halloween, Christmas and New Year until early 2024. A wealth of diversified events will be staged covering entertainment, arts, culture, consumption and more to create a dynamic vibe for citizens and tourists to feel the vibrancy and energy of Hong Kong’s nightlife.

“There are so many cultural activities for you to explore and experience the festive fun. The Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance which will resume for the first time since the pandemic in the coming Mid-Autumn Festival; a stunning drone show to be held simultaneously in Hong Kong and Shenzhen; the Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnivals at Victoria Park which will display lanterns and also feature a bamboo stage for Cantonese opera performances; as well as youth group performances and acrobatic performances at venues in Sha Tin and Tuen Mun,” she added.

On the other hand, Ms Mo joined the 30th Anniversary Gala of the Markham, Richmond Hill and Vaughan Chinese Business Association on September 30 to update the local business sector of the latest developments of Hong Kong.

In delivering a speech, Ms Mo said that with the revitalization of economic activities following the pandemic, Hong Kong is once again showcasing its unique advantages as a premier global business and financial hub. Besides its well-established prowess in financial services, Hong Kong has transitioned into a pivotal center for sustainability, innovation, technology and cultural exchanges.

She invited participants to grasp the valuable opportunities for business development and investment in Hong Kong.

香港經貿處參與中秋節慶活動推廣中國文化

香港駐多倫多經濟貿易辦事處(香港經貿處)處長巫菀菁於九月二十九日出席中秋節慶活動,與當地社區共慶中秋佳節。該活動獲香港經貿處、萬錦市政府及列治文山市政府支持,旨在推廣傳統中國文化。

巫菀菁在活動開幕禮上致辭時表示,中秋節是中國重要的傳統節日,也是與家人團聚的美好時刻。她鼓勵與會者享受濃厚的節日氣氛和多元文化活動,並邀請他們到訪香港,體驗這個亞洲國際都會的豐盛文化面貌。

巫菀菁表示,「香港夜繽紛 」活動於中秋節前在港九新界陸續推出,橫跨國慶、萬聖節、聖誕節、新年,一直至明年初,涵蓋娛樂、藝術、文化、消費等不同主題的活動,旨在市面營造熱鬧氣氛,讓市民和旅客一同感受香港晚上的活力和魅力。

她續說:「今年中秋節將有疫情後首度復辦的大坑舞火龍、港深同步舉行的大型無人機表演;維園中秋綵燈會除設有花燈外,亦將設戲棚帶來粵劇表演;沙田及屯門場地將有青年團體演出以及雜技表演,歡迎各位參加。」

另一方面,巫菀菁於九月三十日出席萬錦市、列治文山市及旺市華商會三十週年慶典,向當地商界介紹香港的最新發展。

巫菀菁在致辭時表示,疫情後經濟活動復常,香港再次展現其作為全球首要營商和金融中心的獨特優勢。 除了在金融服務方面的實力雄厚外,香港已成為可持續發展、創新科技和文化交流的重要樞紐。

她邀請與會者把握在香港發展業務和投資的寶貴機遇。
